We’re going to open and spread our tongues and create a connection with our hips.
The tongue is associated with the Vishuddha (throat) chakra, which governs communication, expression, and creativity. The hips are linked to the Svadhisthana (sacral) chakra, the center of sensuality, creativity, and emotional flow. These chakras are energetically connected, representing the flow between self-expression (throat) and sensuality (sacral). Opening the tongue can amplify the release of energy from the hips and vice versa.
Focus on your hips. Feel a warm, golden energy pooling there. With each inhale, sense your hips softening and expanding. With each exhale, let that warmth radiate into your thighs and belly. Rest your hands on your hip creases if it feels right, gently pressing down to invite openness.
Shift your awareness to your tongue. Let it rest heavy, relaxed. Notice its root at the base of your throat. As you inhale, feel your breath gently touch your tongue. Exhale and let your jaw relax, perhaps parting your lips slightly. Sense a connection between your hips and tongue.
With each breath, imagine energy flowing from the root of your tongue down through your body to your hips. Exhale and feel it rise back up, spreading through your tongue and lips. Stay with this flow, feeling your hips and tongue mirror each other, both opening and spreading.
Gently sway your legs side to side, exploring your hips’ movement. Match this with small shifts in your mouth—parting your lips or rolling your tongue. Play with this connection, letting it feel free and sensual.
