Chakra sound baths consist of seven bowls. Each bowl represents each of the chakras. The bigger the bowl, the lower the chakra. So root has a big bowl and a low sound. Five elements of our body’s chakras that make up our body: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Ether. They represent different qualities of our energy, which bringing it to alignment helps influence our balance.
We’ll be doing a less aurally pleasing meditation that rhymes with tutti frutti called Bhuta Shuddhi. It is a guided meditation to cleanse the chakras. It normally takes 30 minutes. We purify and balance the five elements of your body’s Chakras. By focusing your awareness through mantras, breathwork, and visualization, we’ll dissolve each element at its chakra to restore our energy and better connect with Shakti.
Start in savasana by bringing attention to your Heart Chakra. Invite love and guidance.
Move your focus down to your Root Chakra. See a coiled snake on the earth, representing sleeping kundalini energy that we guide up the spine.
Contract the muscles between your anus and genitals (Mula Bandha and Aswini Mudra) to awaken energy at the Root Chakra. “Hum.”
Root Chakra: Inhale, visualize a yellow square that represents like a fire pit for rising energy. Exhale, dissolve unstable earth. Lowest vibration: “Lam.”
Sacral Chakra: Inhale, see a blue circle with a crescent moon. Exhale, dissolve stagnant muddy water. “Vam.”
Solar Plexus: Inhale, picture a red upward triangle for rising energy. Exhale, dissolve fire representing ego. “Ram.”
Heart Chakra: Inhale, imagine two smoky-gray triangles, one masculine and one feminine forming a star. Exhale, dissolve old air that doesn’t serve you. “Yam.”
Throat Chakra: Inhale, see a sky-blue circle surrounded by petals. Exhale, dissolve space. “Hum.”
Third Eye Chakra: Inhale, visualize a bright white flame. Exhale, dissolve mental distractions. “So Hum.”
Crown Chakra: Inhale, see a thousand-petaled lotus and exhale, embracing your consciousness. “Ham Sa.”
Now, focus on your breath:
Inhale. Air enters your heart and clears away toxins. Hold. Exhale.
Inhale. A bright flame burns away impurities and leaves your body. Hold. Exhale.
Inhale. Let the breath move to your third eye, cool and refresh your body. Hold. Exhale.
Breathe normally.
Allow the Kundalini energy to return to its resting place, moving down through each chakra and restoring balance. Feel the Kundalini energy coil calmly at the base of your spine. Focus on any Chakra that resonates with you and let the sound of OM fill you with love, light, and peace. Receive its blessings.
Third Eye Chakra: Refine the mind. Throat Chakra: Restore space. Heart Chakra: Restore air. Solar Plexus: Restore fire. Sacral Chakra: Restore water. Root Chakra: Restore earth.
