Talahridaya mudra – middle finger and thumb connect The center of the palm and the center of the foot is associated with energy flowing outward and linked to giving and receiving, bringing connection to others and yourself. It is also grounding. Scientific studies say that touching the centers of the palms and the feet reduces blood pressure.

Meditation:

Feel the connection between your breath and the steady rhythm of your heartbeat. Tune into your heartbeat and feel its rhythm. Breathe into your heart, accept yourself, exhale.

Now, shift your attention to the center of your palm. With the thumb to the palm, rub the thumb to your palm together to awaken the energy, then rest them facing up on your knees. Notice the warmth or subtle tingling in the center of your palms.

In your mind’s eye, imagine someone you know or focus on people around you. Look at them without judgment or attachment, focusing on their heart. Feel compassion for their hopes, fears, and struggles. Breathe into this compassion, then exhale it without holding on.

Imagine a beam of energy from your heart to theirs, sending love, then releasing it. Move on to someone else, and when finished, close your eyes. Return to your own heart, breathing compassion into yourself. Release, center.
