Let’s recognize that each part of erotic energy is part of a greater whole.

The parable of the elephant. There were five blind guys, who were told to describe an elephant, based on touching 5 different parts of the body: the ear, the leg, the tusk, the tail, the snout. And they all gave five very different descriptions of the same animal. And that’s something I want to bring tonight about tantra. It is experienced differently by different people. There are of course physical aspects of foreplay and there are emotional aspects. There are also psychological aspects. Tantra encourages integrating these diverse experiences to understand eros, or sexual energy, holistically, recognizing its potential for profound connection and transformation.

The trunk for example symbolizes a snake. The way we can see that is connecting to sexual energy, eros, physically. One person experiences the elephant through its ear, which we can connect to it through an emotional connection as represented through the ears.

Meditation

Imagine yourself as a big majestic elephant, with a big trunk, big pecs, big ass, strong and grounded. Feel the weight of your body anchor you to the earth. With each breath, feel your connection to the ground growing stronger. Visualize a warm, red light at the base of your spine. With each breath, feel more secure and grounded. Focus on a vibrant, orange light below your navel. As you breathe in, feel this light energizing your creativity and sensuality. Picture a bright, yellow light above your navel. Feel this light empowering your confidence and vitality. Imagine a gentle, green light in your chest. Breathe in love and compassion, and let it fill your heart. Visualize a clear, blue light in your throat. Feel this light enhancing your ability to communicate and express yourself. Focus on an indigo light between your eyebrows. Feel your intuition and insight becoming clearer. Imagine all these lights – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet – blending into a golden light and flowing through your entire being.
